We were delighted to have been invited back to Hill View Primary and work with their students on learning about animals, farming, meat and the different cuts available.
This terms topic was burgers and we were delighted to get involved in educating the children from Year 6. They were all very keen to learn all about what we do in the butchery industry and what kind of meat we sell each week. We wanted to make sure that the kids understood there are many benefits to shopping locally as they know where their food is coming from.
The aim was to ensure that they understood a lot more about where the meat comes from, the range of meat and cuts available. As their main project was to create a ‘Healthy Burger’ we thought it would be a great idea to give the kids an incentive to work a bit harder on their projects… The winner of the project would get the chance to come with their family to dine in our steakhouse and see their healthy burger on the menu!
The standard of work we received once all the projects were completed was fantastic. We struggled to pick just one burger that stood out as being the best… So, congratulations to Abigail Dobson our healthy burger winner and our four runners up!
